Our Solutions Engineering leaders are responsible for the delivery of a first-class Presales service to our sales business partners within AMER CML. To that end, this individual will lead a team of Solution Engineers tasked with the support of Okta’s SMB GTM teams across North America. Additionally this individual will be responsible for the day to day operations of the global innovation center support structure, including managing and optimizing our ticketing system. Our Solutions Engineering leaders are adept at envisioning future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies. They are particularly results-focused and partner closely with our Sales leadership to create and execute a plan of action to achieve our growth targets.

What you’ll be doing

  • Solution Engineering leaders prioritise the success of their team. You are responsible for collaborating with your team to foster their professional growth through well-defined development plans and targeted experiences.
  • You own and report on the business impact of your team as they work with prospects who are evaluating Okta’s products.
  • Team activities include demonstrations, technical deep dives, trials and POCs.
  • You will actively work on deals, proposing strategies to help ensure the success of opportunities. This includes frequently participating in remote deal support.
  • You will consistently foster a sense of “team within a team” by collaborating with the broader GIC and presales teams and business units at Okta.
  • Always recruiting! You will attract, recruit, ramp, and mentor a team of great Solutions Engineers from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • 8+ years of Pre-sales experience with mentoring responsibilities and 2-3 years experience managing a team
  • Demonstrated success selling to Mid-sized/large companies. Ability to influence technical decision makers and executives, and service as an executive sponsor.
  • Experience with and proponent of MEDDPICC and Value/Outcome based selling methodologies.
  • A vision for Okta’s opportunity in the market and how our customers will leverage Okta solutions to drive business outcomes.
