Senior Manager, Systems Engineering

Vanta seeks a Senior Manager, Systems Engineering for its Corporate Engineering team. This remote U.S. role oversees identity and access systems, endpoint management, AI tooling infrastructure, and ITSM platforms supporting more than 1,500 employees. The position directs platform initiatives that standardize access, device policy, and tooling governance across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of systems engineers and a technical lead, including setting performance expectations and supporting career growth.
• Design and maintain automated joiner-mover-leaver processes in Okta Workflows, covering user access, role transitions, and full deprovisioning of accounts and credentials.
• Define and enforce device assurance standards for macOS and Windows environments, including OS versions, browser configurations, and device compliance states.
• Streamline the ITSM platform to increase self-service options and reduce time spent on administrative tasks.
• Establish Corporate Engineering review as a required step in SaaS procurement, enforcing SSO integration and ongoing access audits.
• Manage identity, access controls, and connectors for the company-wide AI environment, including MCP servers and Vercel platform, in coordination with AI and Data teams.
• Implement reporting and dashboards that track work intake and team capacity allocation.
• Collaborate with Security, GRC, Finance, and Engineering teams to integrate guardrails into self-service processes.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in IT or systems engineering, with at least 3 years managing and developing engineers at a company that has scaled through significant headcount growth.
• Hands-on experience deploying or governing AI-assisted automation within enterprise platforms such as Okta, Intune, Jamf, Atlassian, or GitHub.
• Professional experience covering identity management, endpoint administration, ITSM, and procurement, or deep expertise in most of these areas with demonstrated scope expansion.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship.
