Job Description
This 6-month contract Marketing Data Analyst role is based at Benchling in San Francisco, CA. The position requires a hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days per week (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday) at the San Francisco headquarters and is embedded with the Marketing Operations team. The engagement focuses on updating the marketing data layer, including models, dashboards, and pipelines for funnel reporting and campaign attribution.
Responsibilities
- Manage the dbt and Sigma components that support marketing funnel tracking from campaign members through MQL and MSL stages to meetings and opportunities.
- Address model dependencies, close gaps in existing models, and create end-to-end documentation of all logic.
- Incorporate new data sources into Snowflake, including ad platform spend from Google and LinkedIn, GA4 traffic and conversion data, and Gong conversation and meeting objects.
- Develop and maintain marketing dashboards covering funnel stage conversion, pipeline generation metrics such as effort, health, and velocity, SDR activity and MQL outcomes, and per-product ARR attribution.
- Implement quality control and system health monitoring for the marketing stack, including Marketo to SFDC sync status, lead routing coverage, data freshness, and email deliverability signals.
- Coordinate with the internal data team and other GTM analysts to maintain consistency across core GTM data models.
- Create a data dictionary that provides plain-language definitions of key marketing concepts and data model semantics suitable for both team members and LLM use.
Requirements
- Four or more years of experience in marketing analytics or marketing operations at a B2B SaaS company.
- Strong SQL skills along with direct experience using dbt for data modeling and GitHub for version control.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake and a modern BI tool, with Sigma experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce and Marketo data structures, including understanding of MQL definitions and movement between systems.
- Familiarity with marketing attribution methods such as campaign member models, multi-touch attribution, and lead-to-opportunity conversion tracking.
- Experience building and documenting data models intended for non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently as an embedded contractor on a defined-scope project.
