Transportation Attendant

Franciscan Ministries is hiring a Transportation Attendant for its senior living campus in West Lafayette, Indiana. The position handles safe resident transport in compliance with Illinois Department of Transportation regulations and campus policies while supporting life enrichment and other departments with programs, activities, and outings. Compensation ranges from $16.50 to $19.00 per hour, with consistent local travel required.

Responsibilities

• Transport residents to outings, trips, medical appointments, and shuttle services.
• Operate the wheelchair lift safely and secure wheelchairs before vehicle operation.
• Keep all community vehicles clean, maintained, and fueled.
• Update the vehicle maintenance log.
• Perform pre- and post-use routine vehicle inspections.
• Support community events and activities when requested.
• Supervise residents during off-campus activities as needed.
• Verify that all community vehicles maintain current registration and required safety or emissions testing.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
• Follow all policies, procedures, and updates.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s License or Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) based on community vehicle requirements
• At least one year of driving experience
