Director of Plant Operations

The Director of Plant Operations role at Franciscan Ministries is based at 1055 E Grand Ave, Lindenhurst, IL 60046. This position directs plant operations, maintenance, transportation, and security for the senior living community and follows a Monday-Friday schedule of 8:30am to 5:00pm.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop, implement, and direct all maintenance department programs and activities.
• Perform the majority of repair and replacement work on systems and equipment as a hands-on manager.
• Manage capital projects to ensure completion on schedule and compliance with safety, state, and federal regulations.
• Act as liaison with contractors, vendors, and the corporate office.
• Identify capital needs and submit recommendations to the Executive Director.
• Prepare and maintain the department budget.
• Direct safety, security, fire protection, and prevention programs in line with company policy, OSHA, state, federal, and county requirements.
• Oversee preventive maintenance for the community and assign tasks to personnel for timely completion.
• Manage the campus transportation program, including vehicle scheduling, maintenance, and staff supervision.
• Develop, maintain, and implement universal precautions and waste disposal policies to sustain a sanitary environment and ensure proper aseptic techniques.
• Monitor construction projects through completion, represent the community with local officials and agencies, track project budgets and files, review payment applications and change orders, anticipate design input needs, review plans and specifications before bidding, review project submittals, and coordinate procurement of furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned and follow all policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree
• Universal HVAC certification
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in maintenance, plant operations, or construction
• Ability to read and analyze blueprints, diagrams, and complex instruction or maintenance manuals
• Limited off-site travel for meetings as required
