The Life Enrichment Assistant is a full-time position at The Village at Mercy Creek, a Franciscan Ministries assisted living community with a memory care unit in Normal, IL. The role supports the Life Enrichment department in planning and delivering resident activities within a senior living environment. The pay range is $16.00 to $17.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Promote Life Enrichment services across the community through internal and external channels.
- Reduce barriers to resident participation in scheduled and unscheduled daily activities.
- Handle administrative tasks including copying, faxing, preparing monthly calendars, and answering phones.
- Lead and support group and one-on-one activities.
- Assist with planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating activity programs.
- Escort residents to and from activities.
- Operate the community bus for outings and medical appointments while following safety protocols, including resident assistance and device securement.
- Complete required documentation such as service plan assessments, progress notes, and activity attendance records to meet state and federal regulations.
- Operate the LifeLoop community engagement system.
- Operate the community medical records system.
- Attend care plan meetings, in-services, resident council, and department meetings.
- Support volunteer coordination efforts.
- Assist with care of the community pet where applicable.
- Keep activity spaces organized and clean.
- Manage setup and cleanup for scheduled and unscheduled programs.
- Handle setup and cleanup of seasonal, celebratory, and holiday décor.
- Complete continuing education via the Relias platform and other required training.
- Maintain department supply inventory levels.
- Assist with training new department associates.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Follow all policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Up to 1 year of experience working with seniors preferred
- 1+ years of senior activity engagement preferred
- Valid driver's license
- Proficiency with basic technology systems
- Experience with LifeLoop and community medical records systems
