Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - PRN

This PRN Certified Nursing Assistant role is with Franciscan Ministries at a senior living community in Chicago, IL. The position supports residents through assistance with daily living activities, medication reminders, and monitoring of physical and cognitive status on an as-needed schedule. The site provides free adjacent employee parking and a bus stop directly across the street, along with pre-tax transportation benefits.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and medication reminders according to care plans and community policies.
• Perform lifting, turning, transferring, positioning, and transporting of residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, and lifts.
• Provide dining room support at assigned mealtimes including set-up, clean-up, meal tray delivery, feeding assistance, and documentation of meal intake.
• Monitor residents' physical and cognitive wellbeing and report changes to the nurse and supervisor.
• Deliver nutritional supplements at assigned times, assist residents with intake as needed, and document intake per community policy.
• Participate in life enrichment programming and support meaningful activities for residents.
• Document resident care in a timely and accurate manner.
• Comply with all policies, procedures, and updates.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Certified Nursing Assistant certification may be required depending on state regulations.
• 1+ years of paid or volunteer experience working with seniors preferred.
• Ability to perform lifting, turning, transferring, positioning, and transporting of residents.
• Ability to assist with dining services, feeding, and documentation of intake.
