Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

University Place, operated by Franciscan Ministries, is a continuing care retirement community in West Lafayette, Indiana, offering independent living, assisted living, memory support, and skilled nursing. The facility also maintains an onsite rehabilitation clinic providing inpatient and outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapies. Certified Nursing Assistants are needed for day shifts (6a-2p) and evening shifts (2p-10p), with every other weekend and rotating holidays required.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and medication reminders according to care plans and community policies.
• Perform lifting, turning, transferring, positioning, and transporting of residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, and lifts.
• Provide dining room services at assigned mealtimes including setup, cleanup, meal tray delivery, feeding assistance, and documentation of meal intake.
• Deliver nutritional supplements at assigned times, assist residents as needed, and document intake per community policy.
• Monitor residents' physical and cognitive wellbeing and report changes to the nurse and supervisor.
• Participate in life enrichment programming and provide meaningful activities to residents.
• Document resident care in a timely and accurate manner.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Certified Nursing Assistant certification as required by state regulations.
• 1+ years of paid or volunteer experience working with seniors preferred.
• Ability to perform resident transfers, positioning, and physical assistance tasks.
