Regional Director of Clinical Services

The Regional Director of Clinical Services role at Franciscan Ministries is based in Parma, OH, and provides regional oversight for clinical services across senior care communities in Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. This independent position monitors processes, conducts audits and training, and supports nursing leadership to maintain quality standards and regulatory compliance. The role requires 75% travel within the assigned region, with the remaining time remote.

Responsibilities

• Support community leadership in meeting or exceeding key quality indicator benchmarks and measures above state and national averages.
• Onboard and train new clinical leadership at assigned communities.
• Audit electronic health record usage, deliver training, and drive platform adoption across sites.
• Perform targeted reviews, mock surveys, and survey preparedness activities to maintain compliance with annual surveys.
• Ensure clinical leaders remain current on new regulations and standards from regulatory agencies.
• Provide resources for survey preparation aligned with CMS guidelines and organizational policies.
• Assist with Plans of Correction and monitor resulting quality assurance processes after citations.
• Apply competency tools to verify clinical staff practices meet professional standards and identify training needs with community leaders.
• Maintain current knowledge of professional standards, laws, and regulations affecting the communities.
• Oversee Quality Improvement planning and activities, and assist with policy, procedure, and form development or revisions.
• Monitor risk management and compliance matters, reporting issues to community leadership and the VP of Clinical Services.
• Serve as infection control resource, conduct surveillance and data analysis, and perform direct observations to prevent spread of infections.
• Complete additional duties as assigned and adhere to all policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) degree from an accredited college or university.
• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state.
• Minimum 5 years of clinical leadership experience.
• Knowledge and proficiency in electronic health records, with Point Click Care preferred.
• Proficiency in federal and state regulatory requirements.
• Ability to travel 75% of the time within IL, IN, and OH.

Benefits

• Salary range of $145,000 to $153,000 per year.
