Regional Director of Clinical Services

The Regional Director of Clinical Services role at Franciscan Ministries is based in Lemont, IL, and supports senior care communities across Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. This independent position oversees regional clinical services with approximately 75% travel and the balance remote. The role centers on monitoring processes, training, auditing, and guiding community nursing leadership to maintain quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist community leadership in achieving and maintaining key indicator benchmarks and quality measures above state and national averages.
• Onboard and train new clinical leadership hires at the communities.
• Audit, train, and ensure adoption of the electronic health record platform.
• Conduct targeted reviews, mock surveys, and survey preparedness activities at each community to support compliance with annual surveys.
• Ensure clinical leadership remains knowledgeable of new regulations and standards from regulatory agencies.
• Provide resources for survey preparation in accordance with standard practice, CMS guidelines, and Franciscan Ministries policies.
• Assist with Plans of Correction as needed and monitor new QA processes developed after citations.
• Apply competency tools to confirm clinical staff practices meet professional standards and collaborate with community clinical leaders on identified needs.
• Stay current on professional standards of practice, laws, and regulations affecting the communities.
• Provide oversight for planning and organization of Quality Improvement activities and assist with development or revision of policies, procedures, and forms.
• Monitor for Risk Management and Compliance issues and report them to community leadership and the VP of Clinical Services.
• Serve as a resource in infection control practices and surveillance, analyze data to prevent infections, and perform direct observations with corrections during site visits.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) degree from an accredited college or university.
• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state.
• 5+ years of clinical leadership experience.
• Knowledge and proficiency in electronic health care records; Point Click Care preferred.
• Proficient in federal and state regulatory requirements.
• Ability to travel 75% regionally to IL, IN, and OH.
