Cook- Full time

Full-time Cook role at Franciscan Ministries in Parma, OH. The position follows a 12 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. schedule and centers on meal preparation and service for residents in a community setting. Hourly compensation ranges from $16.50 to $22.50.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals each day according to posted menus while modifying recipes to address residents' dietary restrictions or to refine flavor and quality.
• Plate food to ensure visual appeal prior to service.
• Oversee and assist with food service while tracking portion sizes to fulfill resident requests and reduce waste.
• Track all chargeable meals for residents, guests, and catering events and deliver the monthly record to the office on schedule.
• Contribute to menu development by working with the Dietary Manager to incorporate seasonal items, vendor promotions, holidays, and special events.
• Review upcoming menus and notify the Dietary Manager of required food and supply quantities for the following week.
• Portion and store delivered meats according to guidelines and verify correct handling, labeling, and storage of all incoming ingredients.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and compliant with sanitation standards.
• Follow all applicable regulations during daily operations.
• Train kitchen staff on food preparation techniques as needed.
• Carry out additional tasks assigned by supervisors.
• Adhere to all facility policies and procedures, including any revisions.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• ServSafe certification
• Minimum of one year of cooking experience
• Supervisor experience preferred
