Responsibilities

• Prepare food items each day according to posted menus, modifying recipes as needed for resident dietary restrictions or recipe improvement.
• Present plated food in an attractive manner prior to service.
• Coordinate and participate in food service while monitoring portion sizes to fulfill resident requests and reduce waste.
• Track chargeable meals for residents, guests, and catered events and submit monthly records to the office by the required date.
• Assist with menu planning by reviewing and updating menus with the Dietary Manager to incorporate seasonal items, vendor pricing, special events, and holidays.
• Identify food and supply needs for upcoming weekly menus and report requirements to the Dietary Manager.
• Prepare delivered meats for storage and portion control, ensuring all foods and ingredients are handled, stored, and labeled correctly.
• Keep the kitchen clean, orderly, safe, and sanitary at all times.
• Follow all applicable regulations for food service operations.
• Train other kitchen staff on food preparation tasks as assigned.
• Carry out additional duties as directed by supervisors.
• Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and updates.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• ServSafe certification
• Minimum 1 year of cooking experience
