Life Enrichment/Activities Coordinator

The Life Enrichment Coordinator is a full-time exempt position at Mount Alverna Village, a continuing care retirement community operated by Franciscan Ministries in Parma, Ohio. The site includes independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing and long-term care, plus an onsite rehabilitation clinic offering inpatient and outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapies. The schedule is typically Monday through Friday with some evenings and weekends required.

Responsibilities

• Promote Life Enrichment services throughout the community and to external partners
• Develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate activity calendars, newsletters and digital displays
• Lead and assist with group and one-on-one activity programs and escort residents to and from activities
• Operate the community bus for outings and medical appointments while following safety protocols for passenger assistance, device securement and emergency procedures
• Complete required documentation including service plan assessments, progress notes and attendance records to meet state, federal and Ministry standards
• Use the community engagement system and medical records system
• Attend stand-up meetings, care plan meetings, in-services, resident council and department meetings
• Manage supply ordering, inventory and volunteer engagement
• Maintain activity spaces, set up and clean up for programs, and handle seasonal and holiday décor
• Involve residents and families in activity and event planning
• Complete required training through the Relias platform and other ongoing education
• Train new department associates, create associate work schedules, and support performance management and hiring in coordination with leadership and Human Resources
• Lead special projects and events and provide coverage across all levels of care as needed

Requirements

• Activity Director Certification required
• 1-2+ years of experience working with the senior population preferred; 3+ years of activity engagement with the senior population preferred
• Ability to use basic technology systems
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate community transportation
