This Cook position is with Franciscan Ministries at a residential community in Franklin, IN. The role centers on daily food preparation, storage, and service for residents, with coordination alongside a Dietary Manager. The schedule supports meal service in a regulated environment that requires compliance with all applicable standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items each day according to planned menus, modifying recipes as needed for special dietary requirements or recipe improvements.
• Present plated meals in an attractive manner prior to service.
• Coordinate and assist with food service while monitoring portion sizes to fulfill resident requests and reduce waste.
• Track chargeable meals for residents, guests, and catered events, then submit accurate monthly records to the office by the required deadline.
• Contribute to menu planning by reviewing and updating menus with the Dietary Manager to incorporate seasonal items, vendor pricing, special events, and holidays.
• Identify required food and supply items for upcoming weekly menus and report needs to the Dietary Manager.
• Portion and prepare meats for storage upon delivery while ensuring proper handling, storage, and labeling of all incoming foods and ingredients.
• Keep the kitchen clean, orderly, safe, and sanitary at all times.
• Follow all applicable regulations during kitchen operations.
• Train additional kitchen staff on food preparation tasks.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
• Adhere to all policies, procedures, and updates.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• ServSafe certification.
• At least one year of cooking experience.

Benefits

• Hourly pay range of $18.00 to $21.00.
