Lead Server

The Lead Server position at Franciscan Ministries in Wheeling, IL oversees day-to-day operations in Dining Services for residents. The role includes supervising staff and maintaining service standards in a senior living community. The hourly pay range is $18.00 to $20.00.

Responsibilities

• Direct team members to deliver high-quality food and service to residents and dining guests.
• Maintain sanitary conditions, organization, and full stocking in the dining room at all times.
• Set up service stations and the dining room prior to each meal period.
• Train new staff on fine-dining principles, service etiquette, and dining services procedures.
• Confirm completion of all job cards, including cleaning lists and side work, for each shift.
• Assign or complete the closing check-out list at the end of each shift.
• Lead daily pre-service meetings and complete associated documentation.
• Review daily staff assignments, menus, food ingredients such as gluten-free options and allergens, and relay new policies or procedures.
• Enforce uniform policy and temperature-control standards.
• Monitor and document inventory levels, then communicate supply needs to the dining services leadership team.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned and follow all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Associate’s degree in food service preferred
• Food Handler’s certificate or other certification required by state guidelines
• 3+ years of food service experience
