Job Description
The Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) role is open at University Place, a continuing care retirement community operated by Franciscan Ministries in West Lafayette, Indiana. The site provides independent living, assisted living, memory support assisted living, and skilled nursing/long-term care, plus an onsite rehabilitation clinic delivering inpatient and outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapies.
Responsibilities
- Administer and document all medications following organizational policies and procedures.
- Oversee resident self-administration of medication in applicable cases.
- Carry out treatments in accordance with policy standards and nurse directives.
- Deliver personal care assistance to residents as directed or required.
- Monitor and report changes in residents' physical or emotional status.
- Keep the environment clean and safe for residents, visitors, and staff.
- Complete a minimum of 12 hours of in-service education annually.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Follow all policies, procedures, and updates.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Medication Aide Certification as required by state regulations.
- One or more years of caregiving or related clinical experience.
