The Sous Chef role is a full-time position at TidePointe, a Vi community in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The position assists the Executive Chef in a retirement community kitchen and requires open availability with no late-night hours. Compensation ranges from $65,066.82 to $81,321.12 per year plus a $3,000 sign-on bonus.
Responsibilities
Assist the Executive Chef with all kitchen operations
Supervise line cooks and kitchen attendants
Ensure a superior food offering through oversight of preparation and presentation
Requirements
5 years of high-end restaurant, club, hotel, or retirement community experience with kitchen supervision and training responsibilities
Experience in garde manger, baking, sauces, and all methods of hot and cold food preparation and presentation preferred
Prior experience with a Point of Sale (POS) system preferred
Current state health and sanitation certification required
Valid and current driver's license where applicable
Current CPR and First Aid certifications required, or ability to obtain them
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
Culinary Arts degree preferred
Knowledge of ordering procedures for produce, dairy, meat, and fish, along with food and labor cost controls
