Lead Cook

Vi at Silverstone, a senior living community operated by Vi Living, is hiring a Lead Cook at its Scottsdale, Arizona location at 23005 N. 74th Street. The role supports kitchen operations in a senior living setting and reports to the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef, or Sous Chef. The position pays between $22.51 and $28.13 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Work all production stations to produce high-quality food while meeting established standards
• Assign work to other staff as directed
• Assist with training and development of Cooks and Kitchen Attendants
• Assist with menu development
• Maintain kitchen equipment
• Assist Kitchen Attendant and Pastry Chef as needed

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years basic line cooking experience in a high-quality restaurant, country club, hotel, or senior living company
• Proficiency in sauté, sweat, poaching, stove cookery, stir fry, and grilling/broiling
• Advanced knife skills including butchering and seafood preparation
• Basic knowledge of ordering fish and produce
• Ability to use a Point of Sale (POS) system
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Some culinary education preferred
• Food Handler certificate or ability to obtain one
• Valid and current driver's license where applicable
