Director of Nursing Training Program

This 6-month Director of Resident Care Services In-Training program at Belmont Village Senior Living Corporate prepares licensed nurses for Director of Resident Care Services and Director of Nursing roles. The program takes place at assisted living and memory care communities in the San Jose, California area, with mentorship from an experienced preceptor and a structured curriculum of rotations, online modules, and assessments. Successful completion leads to placement as a Director of Resident Care Services based on company needs and demonstrated performance, with willingness to relocate required for the first assignment.

Responsibilities

• Complete a hands-on rotational training program covering all aspects of care and clinical services under the guidance of an experienced Director of Resident Care Services preceptor
• Manage licensed nurses, medication technicians, and caregivers, including scheduling and assigning daily tasks
• Serve as liaison between physicians, residents, and families to support service and satisfaction
• Participate in an on-call schedule to address after-hours clinical needs
• Develop thorough understanding of regulatory compliance requirements
• Attend monthly meetings with the Program Administrator and Executive Director Preceptor, complete self-evaluations, and submit progress reports

Requirements

• Active current LVN, LPN, or RN nursing license in applicable state(s)
• At least 1 year of employment experience in a nursing role
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, basic computer troubleshooting, internet navigation, video conferencing, and rapid learning of new technological systems
• Ability to work flexible schedules in a 24-hour operation, including early mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal English
• Willingness to relocate following training for first assignment to any market in which Belmont Village operates
