Job Description

This 6-month Memory Programs Director In Training role at Belmont Village Senior Living Corporate is based in Austin, Texas, and prepares participants for director positions through mentored work at assisted living and memory care communities. The program pairs trainees with an experienced preceptor for on-site shadowing, skills development, and increasing responsibility in memory care programming. Completion leads to promotion to a Memory Programs Director position, contingent on company needs and demonstrated performance, with required openness to relocation across Belmont Village markets.

Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive rotational training in all aspects of leading signature Memory Care programs under direct mentorship from an experienced Memory Programs Director
  • Oversee care and activity programs while supervising caregivers and activity hosts
  • Plan and facilitate specialized activities that promote resident socialization, growth, learning, and development
  • Ensure regulatory compliance in memory care operations
  • Participate in monthly meetings, self-evaluations, and progress reports with the Program Administrator and Executive Director Preceptor

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Experience in memory care and dementia programming
  • Prior management or supervisory experience within the Assisted Living industry or closely related fields (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, basic computer troubleshooting, internet navigation, and video conferencing, with the ability to learn new technological systems rapidly
  • Ability to work flexible schedules in a 24-hour operation, including early mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
  • Effective written and verbal communication in English
  • Willingness to relocate following training to any market where Belmont Village operates
