The Chef Manager In Training role is a 6-month paid program at Belmont Village Senior Living Corporate in Los Angeles, California. Participants complete rotational training at assisted living and memory care communities under direct mentorship from an experienced Chef Manager Preceptor. The program combines on-the-job shadowing, skills checklists, online modules, and leadership assessments, with promotion to Chef Manager upon successful completion and company approval. Relocation to any Belmont Village market is required for the first post-training assignment.
Responsibilities
Complete hands-on training in all aspects of the Food Service Program
Manage high-volume dining service operations
Prepare meals using standardized recipes
Maintain hospitality standards in food service delivery
Lead Food Service team members
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
Requirements
High school degree or equivalent
Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience
Minimum 2 years of food service experience, preferably in a-la-carte or banquet service
Experience with food service Point of Sale (POS) Systems
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, basic computer troubleshooting, internet navigation, video conferencing, and ability to learn new systems quickly
Ability to work flexible schedules in a 24-hour operation, including early mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
Willingness to relocate after training to any Belmont Village market for first Chef Manager assignment
