Medical Assistant (Clinical Partner)

HarmonyCares operates a home-based primary care practice serving patients with complex healthcare needs in Maitland, Florida. The Medical Assistant (Clinical Partner) supports Primary Care Physicians and Nurse Practitioners by providing clinical assistance during in-home visits in a residential setting. The role follows a daytime schedule with no holidays or weekends and includes daily travel to patient appointments within a manageable caseload.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily travel itinerary and transport clinicians to scheduled appointments
• Prepare patients for examination and treatment, including minor procedures when needed
• Obtain patient consent forms and record care documentation accurately and timely in the EMR
• Perform phlebotomy via venipuncture, EKG, and other procedures as directed by clinicians
• Label, store, and package specimens for laboratory delivery
• Update patient care plans, Social Determinants of Health assessments, and other documentation in the electronic medical record
• Maintain compliance with CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA guidelines
• Manage supply inventory, medical bag, and vehicle equipment for treatment
• Ensure company vehicle cleanliness and adherence to maintenance schedules
• Attend required meetings and in-services

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, or EMT program, or one year of experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist
• Current CPR certification meeting company guidelines
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Basic computer literacy including EMR, iPad, and GPS use
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Ability to drive up to 150 miles daily in urban or rural settings
• Full range of body motion including patient handling and transfers
• Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lb
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and read road maps
