Medical Assistant (Clinical Partner)

Job Description

The Medical Assistant (Clinical Partner) role at HarmonyCares supports in-home primary care delivery for patients with complex healthcare needs in Columbus, Ohio. HarmonyCares operates as a value-based provider of residential primary care services across 14 states under a team-based physician model. The position follows daytime hours with no weekends or holidays and includes daily travel to patient homes in urban and rural settings.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily travel and transport clinicians to scheduled patient appointments
  • Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and minor procedures
  • Obtain patient consent forms and document care accurately in the electronic medical record
  • Coordinate patient care activities according to clinician direction, company standards, and policies
  • Perform phlebotomy via venipuncture, EKGs, and other clinician-requested procedures
  • Label, store, and package specimens for laboratory delivery
  • Identify and address quality gaps in patient care
  • Update patient care plans, Social Determinants of Health assessments, and other documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Maintain compliance with CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA guidelines
  • Manage supply inventory and prepare equipment for treatment in the medical bag and vehicle
  • Ensure company vehicle cleanliness and adherence to maintenance schedules
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EMT, or related medical training program, or one year of experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist
  • Current CPR certification meeting company guidelines
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Basic computer literacy including experience with electronic medical records, iPad, and GPS
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Ability to drive up to 150 miles daily in urban and rural settings
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds
  • Full range of body motion including patient handling and lifting
  • Ability to read and understand road maps
  • Capacity to sit or stand for extended periods
