Medical Assistant (Westchester, Yonkers or North Bronx)

HarmonyCares seeks a Medical Assistant to support its in-home primary care practice serving patients with complex healthcare needs across Westchester, Yonkers, or North Bronx in New York. The role partners with primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, and clinical teams to deliver care in residential settings under a physician-driven model. Daytime hours apply with no holidays or weekends required, and the position involves daily travel of up to 150 miles.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily travel itinerary and transport clinicians to scheduled appointments
• Prepare patients for examination, treatment, and minor procedures
• Obtain patient consent forms and record care documentation accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Perform phlebotomy via venipuncture, EKG, and other procedures as requested by clinicians
• Label, store, and package specimens for laboratory delivery
• Update patient care plans, Social Determinants of Health assessments, and other documentation in the patient chart
• Maintain compliance with CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA guidelines
• Manage supply inventory, medical bag, and company vehicle maintenance and cleanliness
• Attend required meetings and in-services

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EMT, or related medical training program, or one year of experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist
• Current CPR certification meeting company guidelines
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Basic computer literacy including EMR, iPad, and GPS use
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Ability to perform full range of body motion including patient handling and transfers
• Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lb
• Ability to drive up to 150 miles daily in urban or rural settings and read road maps
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
