Table Captain

This part-time Table Captain position is with Belmont Village Senior Living in Encinitas, California. The role supports dining service in the on-site restaurant of a senior living community, with scheduled shifts of Tuesday-Thursday 4pm-8pm and Friday-Saturday 10:30am-6:30pm for a total of 27 hours per week at $21 per hour with no tips. The position includes leading table service and assisting with special dining events.

Responsibilities

• Supervise servers in the absence of the Dining Room Manager and ensure overall guest satisfaction
• Provide attentive and personalized service to assigned tables in the on-site restaurant
• Take accurate orders, answer menu questions, and deliver food and beverages in a timely manner
• Ensure orders are served at the correct temperature with proper presentation and accuracy
• Prepare and set up the dining room for service, ensuring flatware, condiments, and beverages are ready
• Collaborate with residents and other departments to plan, coordinate, and facilitate special dining events and celebrations
• Assist the Dining Room Manager with the Room Service process
• Maintain cleanliness of the dining room and assigned tables

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• 1 year of prior restaurant server experience with demonstrated knowledge of dining etiquette
