Medication Technician

The Medication Technician is a part-time position at Belmont Village Senior Living in San Diego, California. The role operates in an Assisted Living and Memory Care community, assisting residents with medication administration and related tasks under licensed nurse supervision on either a 2:30pm-11:00pm schedule with 2 days on/4 days off rotating including weekends and holidays, or a varied schedule covering both 6:30am-3:00pm and 2:30pm-11:00pm shifts with availability required for both and including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Administer routine medications according to physician orders and community guidelines, and provide assistance with ADL care as needed.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and report any medication reactions or refusals to the licensed nurse.
• Monitor and record resident vital signs and observe responses or side effects.
• Attend shift meetings and provide updates on resident conditions to nursing staff.
• Adhere to resident rights, state and federal regulations, infection control practices, fire safety, and hazardous materials guidelines.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 6 months experience as a Caregiver in a licensed community or facility
• C.N.A. License in states where required
• Current Medication Technician or Aide Certification in states where required
• Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
• Intermediate computer and mobile device skills
