Building Engineer Assistant

Building Engineer Assistant role at Belmont Village Senior Living Corporate, located in Chicago, Illinois. The position supports maintenance operations at a senior living community, with weekends required as needed. Work includes hands-on assistance with general upkeep of the facility and grounds alongside the Building Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventative and routine maintenance tasks including basic plumbing repairs, drywall repairs, painting, and general upkeep of the community and grounds
• Maintain common areas, clear exterior sidewalks of debris, and handle trash removal as assigned
• Complete apartment make-ready processes efficiently
• Perform assigned maintenance work orders and assist with internal resident moves
• Support special event setup and cleanup

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year of maintenance experience in apartment, senior living, hotel, or comparable setting
• Proficient reading, comprehension, writing, and mathematical ability
• Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
• Availability to work assigned shifts that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Successful completion of state and federal criminal background check, drug screen, job-related physical, and TB test required prior to start
