Medication Technician

This is a part-time Medication Technician role at Belmont Village Senior Living in San Jose, California. The position supports residents in an Assisted Living and Memory Care community on the 2:30pm-10:45pm shift and requires weekend availability. Work occurs under the supervision of a licensed nurse, with duties that include medication administration, personal care assistance, and electronic medical record maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Administer routine medications according to physician orders and community guidelines while assisting with ADL care as needed.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and report medication reactions or refusals to the supervising nurse.
• Measure and record resident vital signs while monitoring for side effects or responses to medications.
• Attend shift meetings and provide updates on resident conditions to nursing staff.
• Follow all resident rights, state and federal regulations, infection control procedures, fire safety standards, and hazardous materials guidelines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of six months experience as a caregiver in a licensed community or facility.
• C.N.A. license where required by state regulations.
• Current Medication Technician or Medication Aide certification where required by state regulations.
• Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written English.
• Intermediate computer and mobile device skills.
• Successful completion of post-offer background check, drug screening, physical examination, and TB testing.
