Dining Room Manager

The Dining Room Manager position is with Belmont Village Senior Living at its newly constructed Rancho Santa Fe location in San Diego, California. This luxury senior living community provides Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care services and is assembling its opening leadership team to launch a restaurant-style dining program. The role oversees daily front-of-house operations and requires a flexible schedule aligned with meal service needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support dining room servers to maintain service standards during all meal periods
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of dining areas including the Bistro and main dining room
• Manage guest seating arrangements and prepare dining spaces for each service
• Create staff schedules, assign tasks, and conduct training for dining team members
• Enforce health and safety protocols for food handling, storage, and area sanitation
• Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, Activities, and residents on special events
• Respond to feedback from residents and guests
• Train staff on safety protocols, food handling procedures, and cleanliness standards while applying policies consistently
• Work with community leadership, regional teams, and corporate support to meet operational goals
• Handle staffing functions including interviews, hiring, performance management, coaching, and task delegation

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 2-5 years of dining supervisor experience in senior living, restaurant, hotel, resort, or comparable food service setting
• Knowledge of cleaning standards for commercial food operations
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on dining program requirements
• Proficient use of MS Office and POS systems in prior roles
