Medication Technician

This part-time Medication Technician role is located at Belmont Village Senior Living in San Diego, California, within an Assisted Living and Memory Care community. The position involves assisting residents with daily medications and related tasks under the supervision of a licensed nurse while maintaining electronic medical records. Available shifts are Fridays and Saturdays on either the 6:30am-3:00pm or 2:30pm-11:00pm schedule.

Responsibilities

• Administer routine medications according to physician orders and community protocols while providing assistance with ADL care as required.
• Document all medication administration and resident responses in electronic medical records and notify the licensed nurse of any refusals or adverse reactions.
• Measure and record resident vital signs while monitoring for side effects or changes in condition.
• Participate in shift meetings and provide updates to nursing staff regarding resident status.
• Follow all resident rights, state and federal regulations, infection control procedures, fire safety standards, and hazardous materials guidelines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 months experience as a caregiver in a licensed community or facility.
• C.N.A. license in states where required.
• Current Medication Technician or Aide certification in states where required.
• Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written English.
• Intermediate computer and mobile device skills.
