Manager, Software Engineering (International)

Affirm is seeking a Manager of Software Engineering to lead its International Accelerator Engineering team, a Europe-based full-stack group building direct-to-consumer products for Canada, the UK, and future international markets. This remote role, based in the UK, involves managing the engineering strategy, roadmap, and team growth for the Affirm App and related consumer-facing platforms that serve over 20 million users globally.

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale a full-stack engineering team based in Europe, owning the complete software lifecycle from strategy through production for direct-to-consumer products across multiple geographies.
• Define and communicate a clear technical roadmap that translates international growth objectives into executable engineering plans and maintains team priority clarity in a multi-timezone, fast-paced environment.
• Hire, develop, and retain engineers at all levels; establish meaningful career development paths and maintain high standards for technical quality, reliability, and production impact at scale.
• Drive cross-functional alignment with product, design, data science, and business teams across time zones to ensure consistent shipping and measurable user impact.
• Manage engineering decisions and resource allocation for the Affirm App and Direct-to-Consumer platforms serving international markets.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing and growing full-stack engineering teams.
• Demonstrated ability to define technical strategy and roadmaps aligned with business objectives in multi-market or international environments.
• Experience hiring and developing engineers across multiple levels.
• Track record of shipping and operating production systems at scale.
• Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and communicate effectively across distributed teams and time zones.
