The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Full Stack Developer to join our team. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying high-performance, scalable web applications that are critical to Okta's success. This role is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex, large-scale systems, contribute to core backend services, and potentially explore integrations with AI technologies. A specific focus for this role will be contributing to the development and evolution of Compass, our internal data and knowledge platform.
What you will be doing
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable web applications and features using React on the frontend and Java on the backend.
- Lead the development of backend services and APIs, ensuring high performance, stability, and scalability.
- Drive key features and improvements within Compass, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for internal users.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers to translate requirements into technical specifications and deliver high-quality software.
- Contribute to setting technical direction and best practices for the team.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and operational support.
- Good to have: Integrate and optimize AI-assisted coding tools within the existing development pipeline to streamline developer experience and enhance engineering efficiency.

- 5+ years of professional experience in full stack software development.
- Deep expertise in front-end development using React (or similar modern JavaScript frameworks).
