Medical Assistant (Clinical Partner)

Medical Assistant (Clinical Partner) positions at HarmonyCares involve supporting in-home primary care delivery for patients with complex healthcare needs in Ann Arbor, Michigan. HarmonyCares operates a physician-driven, team-based model of home-based primary care across multiple states. The role includes daytime hours with no weekends or holidays and requires daily travel to residential appointments alongside clinicians.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily travel itinerary and transport clinicians to scheduled appointments
• Prepare patients for examination and treatment, including minor procedures when required
• Obtain patient consent forms and record patient care documentation accurately and timely
• Coordinate patient care as directed by clinicians according to company standards and policies
• Perform phlebotomy via venipuncture, EKG, and other procedures requested by clinicians
• Label, store, and package specimens for laboratory delivery
• Identify and close quality gaps
• Document and update patient care plans, Social Determinants of Health assessments, and other evaluations in the electronic medical record
• Maintain compliance with CLIA, OSHA, and HIPAA guidelines
• Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatment, including supply inventory, medical bag, and vehicle where applicable
• Ensure company vehicle cleanliness and adherence to periodic maintenance schedules where applicable
• Attend required meetings and in-services

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EMT, or related medical education/training program, or 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist
• Current CPR certification meeting company guidelines
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Basic computer literacy including EMR, iPad, and GPS experience
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Ability to perform full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients
• Ability to drive up to 150 miles daily in urban and/or rural settings
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lb
• Ability to read and understand road maps
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods
• Certified Medical Assistant (preferred)
• Six months of patient care experience, preferably in geriatric care (preferred)
• Strong phlebotomy skills (preferred)
• Ability and desire to obtain MA certification within 180 days of hire (preferred)
