Job Description

Vanta empowers companies to continuously monitor, verify, and demonstrate their security posture. As a Salesforce Platform Engineer, you'll build the deployment infrastructure and developer experience foundation that our Salesforce engineering team relies on daily. Reporting to the Lead of Salesforce Architecture, you'll own the platform engineering domain end-to-end during an initial 9–12 month buildout, then transition into a 50/50 split between platform/developer experience ownership and traditional Salesforce engineering.

About the Role

The Business Systems team owns the platforms and infrastructure supporting Vanta's go-to-market operations. We build and maintain Salesforce environments, integration workflows, data pipelines, and automation that enable the company to scale while delivering exceptional customer experiences. Your work will directly support that growth by establishing modern CI/CD practices, hardening our release pipeline, implementing observability, and preparing our codebase for AI-assisted development workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement modern CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce using GitHub and Gearset, including branching strategy, automated deployments, and release gating
  • Establish engineering standards across the Salesforce team: peer review processes, linting, testing frameworks, branch hygiene, and code quality enforcement
  • Implement feature flag infrastructure for safer rollouts and progressive delivery on the Salesforce platform
  • Prepare the repository and tooling for AI-assisted development workflows, including harness engineering, evaluations, and automated review
  • Build and maintain sandbox and scratch org management processes, with automated seeding of representative test data for productive developer workflows
  • Instrument observability—logging, monitoring, and alerting—across the Salesforce environment to detect and diagnose issues quickly
  • Champion platform engineering best practices, testing discipline, and release standards with teammates
  • After the initial 9–12 month buildout, contribute as a Salesforce engineer building features in Apex, LWC, and Flow alongside continued platform/DX ownership

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Salesforce engineering experience, including hands-on Salesforce Platform Engineering in production environments
  • Hands-on experience with Gearset, Salesforce DX, and Git-based deployment workflows
  • Proven experience defining and enforcing branching strategies, code review standards, and release processes for Salesforce orgs
  • Strong understanding of Apex and LWC testing frameworks, with demonstrated ability to drive test coverage, fast deployments, and reliability at scale
  • Experience managing Salesforce sandboxes or scratch orgs, including refresh strategy and test data seeding
  • Familiarity with feature flag patterns and progressive delivery on Salesforce
  • Experience implementing observability—logging, monitoring, error tracking—for Salesforce or comparable platforms
  • Working knowledge of Apex, Lightning Web Components, and declarative automation (Flows)
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce best practices including governor limits, bulkification, and design patterns
  • Strong communication skills and ability to bring teams along on new standards and practices
  • Curiosity about AI-assisted development and how to optimize a Salesforce codebase for those workflows
  • Willingness to use AI to amplify skills and improve efficiency with sound judgment
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I/II certifications are a plus but not required

Benefits

  • Industry-competitive salary and equity
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with 100% of employee-only premiums covered for most medical plans
  • 16 weeks paid parental leave for all new parents
  • Health and wellness stipend
  • Remote workspace, internet, and cellphone stipend
  • Commuter benefits for team members reporting to SF and NYC offices
  • Family planning benefits
  • Matching 401(k) contribution with immediate vesting
  • Flexible PTO policy plus 80 hours of sick time
  • 11 company-paid holidays
  • Virtual team building activities, lunch and learns, and company-wide events
  • Offices in San Francisco, New York, London, Dublin, Tel Aviv, and Sydney
