Job Description

MoneyLion, part of Gen Digital, is seeking a Senior Web Engineer to design and scale customer-facing financial technology experiences. You'll work with product, design, and backend teams to build fast, accessible, and maintainable front-end systems that drive engagement and conversion across MoneyLion's consumer platform.

About the Role

MoneyLion is a financial technology leader delivering personalized products and guidance to millions of users. This role focuses on making sound engineering decisions, partnering across disciplines, and building customer experiences that are fast, clear, resilient, and measurable. You will help shape key consumer journeys across MoneyLion's product surfaces and improve long-term customer value through high-quality front-end engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a high bar for quality through code reviews, testing, and production readiness.
  • Partner with product, design, and backend engineers to shape solutions and deliver reliably.
  • Design and build scalable front-end systems that adapt to evolving product needs.
  • Strengthen performance, accessibility, maintainability, and consistency across the codebase.
  • Build A/B tests, event tracking, and measurement capabilities that support rapid learning and experimentation.
  • Use AI tools for prototyping, scaffolding, and refactoring, then validate output with strong engineering judgment.
  • Build and maintain automated test coverage across unit, component, integration, and end-to-end layers.

Requirements

Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 4+ years in software engineering with a track record of building and shipping production applications.

Required Skills:

  • Deep expertise in React and TypeScript, including advanced typing strategies, component architecture, and reusable design patterns.
  • Strong understanding of browser fundamentals: rendering, event handling, networking, and performance characteristics.
  • Experience building and scaling component-driven applications, including state management, data flow, and separation of concerns.
  • Proficiency in performance optimization techniques such as code splitting, lazy loading, memoization, and runtime efficiency.
  • Experience designing and integrating with APIs, including handling async data, caching strategies, and error states.
  • Proven testing strategies across unit, component, integration, and end-to-end layers.
  • Experience with headless and enterprise CMS platforms (e.g., Contentful, Adobe Experience Manager, WordPress), including content modeling and delivery APIs.
  • Familiarity with observability and monitoring of user-facing applications, including performance tracking and production debugging.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern front-end build and deployment workflows.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with a bias toward clear, maintainable, and scalable systems.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with React Native.
  • Track record on high-scale, consumer-facing applications.
  • Familiarity with experimentation platforms, A/B testing, and event instrumentation.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-powered development tools like Cursor and modern AI coding models.
  • Practical understanding of AI strengths and limitations, paired with sound judgment in application.
  • Ability to use AI agents to explore multiple approaches, compare tradeoffs, and converge on solutions without shipping "AI-shaped" code.

Benefits

  • Annual base salary: $135,200–$178,880 (varies by qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies).
  • 401(k) match.
  • Health insurance options.
  • Disability and life insurance coverage.
  • Unlimited paid time off.
  • Flexible working options and collaborative work environment.

Location: New York, NY (onsite 3 days per week).
