Job Description

About the Role

Ramp is seeking a Senior Application Engineer to lead Salesforce platform development and system integrations within our growth engineering function. You'll architect and scale business systems that connect Salesforce with our broader GTM stack, working across Python-based integrations, iPaaS solutions, and data pipelines to support how we manage billions in business spend.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy applications on the Salesforce platform using Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, and related technologies
  • Design and implement integrations between GTM systems and products, including Python-based applications and iPaaS platforms (Workato, Clay, and homegrown solutions)
  • Maintain solutions across the full stack: Salesforce, Outreach, Workato, Hubspot, Segment, DBT, Retool, and Leandata
  • Lead architectural decisions on patterns, tools, and design approaches to support speed and scalability
  • Own data integrity and validate data assumptions within your focus areas
  • Write technical specifications including architecture diagrams, data models, process flows, and sequence diagrams
  • Participate in code reviews, on-call support, and cross-team collaboration on build issues and ideation

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with the Salesforce platform
  • 5+ years of experience with systems architecture and integrations
  • Strong proficiency in Apex, Visualforce, Aura, Lightning Web Components, and Triggers
  • Working knowledge of additional programming languages such as Python or Node.js
  • Deep experience managing leads, contacts, accounts, opportunities, and campaigns in Salesforce
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce APIs, integrations, and synchronous/asynchronous patterns
  • Solid understanding of streaming APIs, publish/subscribe design patterns, and architectural patterns
  • Experience with version control systems (GitHub/Bitbucket) and branching strategies
  • Working knowledge of data pipelines and CI/CD processes
  • Understanding of Salesforce governance limits, code coverage requirements, and unit testing best practices
  • Familiarity with the broader GTM ecosystem (Hubspot, Outreach, Gong, Leandata, CPQ)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
