Wiz is seeking a Principal Solutions Engineer to serve as a top field technical expert in cloud-native and application security. In this role, you'll work across sales, customer success, product management, and R&D to drive strategic opportunities and provide expert guidance on complex cloud security implementations.
About the Role
As Principal Solutions Engineer, you will partner with Wiz's CTO, Field CTO, Customer Success, and Product Management organizations to maintain alignment across the sales and post-sale process. You'll be the company's field leader in application and cloud-native security, translating deep technical expertise into business value for prospects and customers ranging from Fortune 100 enterprises to mid-market organizations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the field expert in application security and cloud-native security, providing technical and business-relevant feedback to Product Management based on customer engagements to strengthen Wiz's competitive positioning
- Collaborate with sales teams on strategic opportunities to demonstrate the technical and business value of the Wiz platform
- Support Solutions Engineers and prospects during proof-of-concept engagements, handling advanced use cases, deployment, and troubleshooting
- Lead thought leadership sessions with field teams, sharing customer-derived insights to improve messaging and value delivery
- Contribute to messaging and sales enablement around Wiz platform capabilities
Requirements
- Strong technical foundation in IT, information security, cloud, and DevOps concepts
- Proven career path focused on public cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Deep knowledge of the application security landscape, including ASPM, SAST, DAST, SCA, and practical use of SBOMs (SPDX/CycloneDX) for vulnerability and license management
- Proficiency in one or more high-level languages (Python, Go, Rust) and/or advanced shell scripting
- Strong understanding of developer workflows, Git, CI/CD pipelines, Helm, Terraform, and related tools
- Subject matter expert-level knowledge of Kubernetes and container architectures with ability to design and troubleshoot complex environments
- Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences—from developer teams to executive stakeholders (CISOs, CTOs)
- Commitment to continuous learning and technical excellence
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
