We strive for patient-centered care and comfort, and we are committed to serving the community and treating our patients as family Akron General’s Rapid Observation Unit is part of the Emergency Department (ED) and provides treatment and evaluation to patients while determining if the patient needs to be admitted to the hospital

As an RN, you will deliver exceptional care, throughout the patient care journey.

In this role

, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed . A caregiver in this position works nights 7:00 PM – 7:30AM . A caregiver who excels in this role will: Provide direct nursing care. A ssess , plan, implement and evaluate care for a given patient population. C omplete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately. D evelop and update goals, involve patients and families in care and serve as a patient advocate. P rovide nursing care, administer treatments and medication, and document . P articipate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient / family outcomes, contribute to the improvement of care and participate in the quality improvement process. D elegate tasks, serve as a resource person, pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications, maintain applicable certification/ licensure and obtain any required certifications specific to the unit.

Minimum qualifications

for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing ( Program, ADN or BSN program) Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification ) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification or American Red Cross Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Bachelor ’s of S cience in N ursing (BSN) Cardiac and/or Telemetry experience Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required The policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment
