The Mother-Baby unit serves mothers and their stable newborns, late preterm to term using a specially trained health-care team, as well as stable antepartum patients needing short to long term hospitalization

The major admitting diagnosis’ include postpartum mothers experiencing vaginal deliveries and postoperative cesarean sections and their newborns, as well as pregnancy diagnoses’ such as PIH, PROM, Gestational diabetes, and Placenta Previa

The service is provided 24 hours a day and 7 days a week The Mother-Baby Unit is a specialized area of expertise that require astute assessment skills, development of critical thinking while understanding the implications of growth and development on physiologic and patho-physiologic process

All staff work 12-hour shifts, 0630 to 1900 and 1830 to 0700, which includes alternating weekend shifts and holiday shifts Why Mercy?
