Position Details

Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg 5E Location: Mercy Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, St Louis, Missouri 63128 Schedule: Full-Time | 36 hours/week Shift: Night Shift | 7:00PM-7:30AM Sign-On Bonus: Experienced Nurses: Up to $10,000 New Graduate Nurses (less than 1 year of experience): Up to $5,000 About the Unit Med Surg 5E provides care for a wide variety of adult medical patients

Typical diagnoses include: Small bowel obstructions Respiratory infections Cellulitis Diverticulitis Pneumonia This unit offers strong opportunities to develop and strengthen core clinical skills including patient assessment, time management, and complex care coordination

Nurses on 5E gain experience with medical patients who require frequent monitoring, thoughtful care planning, and multidisciplinary teamwork Overview: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care

Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers

Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and mercy service standards.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing Nursing Diploma Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Licensure: Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations

Experience: Previous hospital experience is preferred and may be required depending on the unit Certifications: Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: BSN preferred Licensure: Additional state licensure or specialty certifications preferred Experience: Prior experience in specialty area or similar clinical setting Physical Requirements Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties Why Mercy?
