Exciting RN Opportunity in Colorado! Join the Platte Valley Hospital Womens Care & Labor and Delivery Team Platte Valley Hospital in Brighton, Colorado is seeking compassionate and skilled Registered Nurses to join our Womens Care/Labor and Delivery team on nights

This opportunity is ideal for RNs who are passionate about supporting women and families through pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum recovery, and newborn care while providing exceptional, patient-centered care during some of lifes most meaningful moments

As a Womens Care/L&D RN, youll work alongside a highly collaborative team of physicians, certified nurse midwives, lactation consultants, and caregivers dedicated to delivering safe, evidence-based care for mothers and babies.

About the Platte Valley Womens Care & Labor and

Delivery RN Role As a Womens Care/Labor and Delivery RN at Platte Valley Hospital, youll play a vital role in supporting patients throughout labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum care, and newborn transitions

Youll provide comprehensive nursing care while closely monitoring maternal and fetal well-being, assisting with deliveries, and educating families during every stage of their care journey

Youll collaborate closely with providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure positive outcomes for both mothers and newborns while helping families navigate important milestones with confidence and support

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients. Assess, monitor, and document maternal and fetal health throughout labor and delivery. Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and obstetrical emergencies. Assist physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary team members during labor, delivery, and recovery. Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with clinical standards and organizational policies.
  • Support and educate patients and families regarding childbirth, postpartum recovery, newborn care, and breastfeeding. Promote family-centered care and foster a positive patient experience. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, care provided, and outcomes. Collaborate effectively with providers, lactation consultants, respiratory therapists, and other caregivers.
  • Support a culture of safety, teamwork, continuous learning, and high-quality patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

Current RN license in the state of practice.

  • Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment. Minimum one (1) year of RN experience in a critical care or acute care setting. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers. BSN is Required. Degree will be verified. RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of hire date.

Preferred Qualifications

Labor & Delivery, Womens Services, Mother/Baby, Postpartum, or related nursing experience. NRP and fetal monitoring experience preferred.

  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills. Note: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required as of the job descriptions last update on 4/27/2025. Employees hired or promoted prior to this date will be held to the minimum requirements that were in place at the time of their promotion or hire.

Compensation

& Schedule: Full-Time | Night Shift 10% Float Differential for all hours worked in Womens Care Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.- and

-Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.- and

-Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.- and

-Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.- and

-Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).- and

  • -May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time. Location: Platte Valley Hospital Work City: Brighton Work State: Colorado Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36 The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
