<p>The Marketplace team, part of the Economy org, owns the platform and infrastructure that supports the Avatar customization and Avatar Marketplace within Roblox. As a Senior Engineer on our team, you will lead the work on building personalized and streamlined shopping experiences for over 100M users within Roblox.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Beyond this scope, you will be involved with several additional areas also owned by subteams such as:</p>

<p>Avatar Identity</p>

<ul>

<li>Scaling and Serving Avatars to tens of millions of users on the platform</li>

<li>Building new Avatar customization features and continuously improving user experience</li>

<li>Driving users and creators towards high-quality, high-fidelity Avatars that will shape Roblox’s look and feel going forward</li>

</ul>

<p>The systems above power the engine APIs that enable developers to monetize their games on Roblox, earning hundreds of millions of dollars per year, while processing billions of transactions.</p>

<p>The ideal candidate is passionate about understanding customer needs, optimizing performance, and delivering exceptional user experiences.</p>

<p><strong>You Have:&nbsp;</strong></p>

<ul>

<li>3+ years of professional experience in software development</li>

<li>Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C#, Go, Rust, Java, C++, or Python</li>

<li>Experience with REST, GRPC, API design patterns, and scalable containerized systems and microservices</li>

<li>A willingness to embrace new technologies and a passion for continuous learning</li>

<li>Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical field (or equivalent experience)</li>

</ul>

<p><strong>You will:</strong></p>

<ul>

<li>Design systems that help users discover, create, and interact with virtual products on the marketplace and in experiences&nbsp;</li>

<li>Design and architect scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant distributed systems, including microservices, message queuing systems, distributed databases, and cloud-based solutions</li>

<li>Lead projects from scoping through experimentation to launch, making key technical decisions, and running and analyzing A/B tests</li>

<li>Partner effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, research scientists, and machine learning engineers</li>

<li>Optimize system performance, minimize latency, and maximize throughput.</li>
