About the unit

8 South Neuro is a 52-bed progressive/medical surgical, comprehensive Stroke certified unit that offers a solid foundation in nursing for new grads The unit has a focus on acute strokes, neurosurgical interventions, such as craniotomies, spine procedures and VP shunts

In addition, a 4-bed epilepsy monitoring unit The unit is fast-paced and offers many learning opportunities.

Scope of work As a Registered Nurse, under the ANA scope of practice, you will utilize the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles

The Registered Nurse provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Beaumont policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Associates or Diploma in Nursing from an ACEN accredited program, required.
  • Bachelors in Nursing required within 5 years for GN or RN with less than 1 year of experience. Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination. MI Registered Nurse (RN) license, required. American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation Basic Life Support (BLS) Required upon hire.
