About the unit

4 North is a 33-bed unit at Butterworth Hospital specializing in orthopedic, trauma and burn care Our team works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary group of professionals including nursing, physicians, APPs, rehab therapists, and care managers to provide high quality, comprehensive care to our patients

Common diagnoses for our patient population include polytrauma, gunshot wounds, falls, motor vehicle accidents, burns, and orthopedic complications as a result of a traumatic injury

Our team is focused on creating an inclusive and encouraging culture that aims to meet people where they are, supports them in continuous learning, challenges them to grow in their practice and celebrates individual and collective accomplishments

It is the flagship hospital for Corewell Health Grand Rapids Hospitals Scope of work Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan

Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation

Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health

Qualifications
