About the unit The Gerber OB unit is a

private-room, mother–baby centered unit providing care across labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum The unit includes 7 private patient rooms, a 3‑bed triage area, a short-term observation room, and a dedicated surgical suite for C‑sections

Nurses care for one laboring patient at a time, transitioning to one nurse for every two mother–baby couplets postpartum Triage is typically staffed by one to two nurses

The unit supports day and night shifts and offers a collaborative environment focused on safe, individualized care for mothers and babies.
