Responsible for providing assistance to physicians and RN in the delivery of patient care to include invasive and non-invasive procedures: EKGs, IVs, phlebotomy Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age of the patient served in assigned department
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span Collects data reflective of the patients status and assist with the interpretation of appropriate information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to age specific needs as described in the departmental policy and procedural guide
Emergency Technician will fill in as the monitor tech as needed.
Education High School Diploma or GED, (Required) Program Graduate, Paramedic or Emergency Medical Technician training course (Preferred) Experience 1 year Emergency Technician preferred Licenses and Certifications *EMT-B does NOT qualify - see below qualifications* Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Advanced, Intermediate, or Paramedic ONLY (Required) OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Advanced, Intermediate, or Paramedic ONLY (Required) OR Military Experience - US Military Equivalent military experience in lieu of EMT certification (A, I, and P) will be accepted (i.e., medical technician or corps (Required) CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Required to start employment) ACLS Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Required to start employment) PALS Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) ( Required within 180 days of starting) To learn more about being a team member with Riverside Health System visit us at https://www.riversideonline.com/careers .
