Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned Assesses the number and level of staff required to provide optimal quality patient care within budgetary constraints and adjusts staffing as necessary
Prioritizes and triages in collaboration with nursing staff to ensure the most effective use of patient care resources Mentors and coaches nursing staff to enhance their professional development
Educates staff on department/hospital policies, procedures, equipment, and/or supplies Supports activities needed to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and compliance with clinical patient care standards and established policies and procedures
Participates in departmental and hospital committee meetings Participates in quality improvement activities Maintains professional educational development as related to evidenced-based practice
Maintains a reciprocal relationship with the Clinical Managers/Directors to assure unit productivity Monitors and assesses need to secure additional supplies Rounds on assigned unit(s) and consults with the nursing staff to verify that patient needs are being met
Assesses and coordinates the flow of critical care patients to optimize resources Acts rapidly and competently, follows hospital policies and procedures in any emergency situation
Ensures organizational policies, procedures, standards and practices are communicated and followed by staff Identifies and allocates resources according to budgetary expectations, benchmarking data, standards of nursing practice and ethical principles of care.
