Registered Nurse, Transport Team, 0.9FTE Nights, 6PM-6AM This position will float to the following locations: Main Hospital, North Clinic in Everett, South Clinic in Federal Way
Relocation assistance available As an integral member of the Transport Team, the Transport RN functions within the Scope of Practice as defined by Washington State, the ANA Scope and Standards for Pediatric Nursing Practice, and adheres to Seattle Childrens Hospital policies/procedures and guidelines of care
Responsible for the safety of patients prior to and during transport to medical care facilities This includes the provision of basic patient care as well as advanced life support measures required to stabilize the critically ill or injured patient, demonstration of proficiency in neonatal and pediatric critical care nursing and knowledge of the adaptations necessary for patient management in the ambulance or aircraft and during transit
The Transport Nurse must also be familiar with ambulance and aircraft operating procedures and safety practices Assists in meeting Seattle Childrens strategic goals by incorporating the initiatives to support the strategic plans into the daily work, i.e. Continuous Improvement and Innovation (CII), ART, etc. The Transport RN serves as a team lead within the mobile transport team and may be required to provide supervision and delegation to other Registered Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, or Emergency Medical Technicians who are members of the mobile transport team
Must be available for call This position may be based at Main Campus or at one of the off campus bases Off campus bases may be at Seattle Childrens locations, or at another site that is decided based on volume and efficiency
Required Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred Minimum of three (3) years recent Critical Care Transport, pediatric critical care (PICU, CICU or other relevant unit), Emergency Department (ED) or neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) experience, at a 6.FTE or greater
Required Credentials Current Washington State RN License Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Those without ACLS will be required to obtain ACLS during the orientation, but no later than three months from the start date within the position
BLS for Healthcare Providers is required for all positions prior to start date Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS), and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Providers
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Those without PALS will be required to obtain PALS during the orientation, but no later than three months from the start date within the position
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) Those without NRP will be required to obtain NRP during the orientation, but no later than six months from the start date within the position
Completion of an approved trauma course no later than six months from the start date within the position As per the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), for RN's performing moderately complex point of care testing, a copy of a diploma or transcript of the highest level of academic achievement to be on record with Human Resources upon hire
For personnel trained outside of the U.S., records of diploma/transcript must provide documented equivalency evaluation by a foreign credentialing agency Acceptable government documents that allow travel to and from the US or WA Enhanced ID is a prerequisite to hiring
Must maintain current documentation at all times, and have these documents available during all shifts Must carry these documents on all transports Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Neonatal CCRN or RNC certification Specialty certification - This can include C-PNT, CTRN or CFRN certification.
Range $51.60 - $91.30 per hour Salary Information This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year) Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided
