Clinical Resource RN - Surgical Services

Job Title: Clinical Resource RN Department: Surgical Services Location: Newark Wayne Hospital Schedule: Day/Evening/Night SUMMARY: As a Clinical Resource Registered Nurse (RN), you plan, organize, coordinate, evaluate and provide guidance in implementing each patient’s plan of care.

Responsibilities

Development.

• Develop the plan of care in conjunction with patient, family and others, utilizing community resources and systems; collaborate with health team members to ensure a comprehensive plan of care; use health promotion and health teaching methods appropriate to the patient’s developmental level, learning needs, readiness, ability to learn, language preference and culture Evaluation. Consider associated risks, benefits, costs, current scientific evidence and clinical expertise when formulating expected outcomes; modify expected outcomes with changes in the status of the patient or the situation; synthesize available data, information and knowledge to identify patterns and variances Leadership. Teach basic physical assessment skills appropriate for the patient’s chronological and developmental age; guide others in recognizing and assessing the individual cultural needs of the patient/family/significant other and in developing a comprehensive plan of care REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Current New York State Registered Nursing license For Operating Room and Ambulatory Surgery Center

-CNOR or CAPA or CPAN certified or attainment within two years of hire into position is required. For Inpatient Psychiatry – Board Certified Registered Nurse (Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing) or attainment within one year of hire into position is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred. Strong customer service, communication, and computer skills.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)American Heart Association (AHA)American Heart Association (AHA), RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)New York State Education Department (NYSED)New York State Education Department (NYSED) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting
