Responsibilities

Nursing is the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities, and populations (ANA, 2010).

 

Garnet Health Medical Center clinical nurses are guided by the New York State Nurse Practice Act, the American Nurses Association (ANA) guide to the Code of Ethics for Nurses, the Essential Guide to Nursing Practice, Jean Watson’s Nursing Philosophy and Science of Caring, the Garnet Health Medical Center Plan for Nursing Quality and Safety, and the Garnet Health Medical Center Nursing Strategic Plan (NSP). Clinical nurses are empowered to work toward an improved healthcare system by providing safe, timely, effective, equitable, and patient centered care (IOM).

The compensation range for the role is $56.58 - $62.71 hourly

 

Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements.  The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.  When determining a team member’s compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).

Qualifications

Licensure:

  • Active New York State Nursing License in good standing

Education:

  • Baccalaureate (preferred), Master’s, or Doctorate Degree in Nursing from an Accredited School of Nursing.

Certification:

  • American Nurses Association endorsed Certifications or Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses Certification Preferred (*Based on Certification specialty hours of work requirement).

Critical Care Float Pool (6028)RN CC Float 1-ICU/ED/PCURN CC Float 2-ICU/PCURN CC Float 3-ED/MainIncumbents previously trained within the ICU’s, PCU, CDA 2 West, ED will continue to float) *Patient population (CTSD patients / day 3 and beyond, CTICU – will not be assigned to CC Floats / will only be assigned to the unit as supportive assignment)

1-year Critical Care or SDU experience or upon successful completion of the GHMC ICU Fellowship program.See- Critical Care float Fellowship Program

 

 

 

 

 

ACLSPALS within 6 months of hire/transfer;MERT Training within 6 months of hire or transferCRRT Training within 1 year of hire or transfer TNCC required within 1 year for all new hires and transfers; *Staff will be required to complete a CRRT Refresher every two years.ECCO & ENA Modules required within 9 months or must demonstrate competency Hospital Crisis Intervention Training Course upon hire or transfer and annually thereafter.

Normal Working Schedule

Nights (7p-7:30a) Mon - Sun with 3 weekend shifts per month (Fri & Sat). Holidays distributed on an equitable basis.
